PLEASANT HYMN, INVENTOR AND ENTREPRENEUR, WOMAN TEETH BRUSH CUSHIONS TO HELP THE GREAT AND DISABLED OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

CONCORD, NH, UNITED STATES, JANUARY 19, 2022 / EINPresswire.com/ – In New Hampshire, the state of granite sometimes acquires the right equipment, technology and tools to help people with neurological disabilities or physical can often be one of life’s challenges. . Now a state agency is making it easier to order a support device online or from a store to make your life easier and trust that when you take it home, it will work as advertised.

According to CDC.gov, 3 percent of New Hampshire adults have a disability for self-care and 7 percent have an independent living disability. There is new hope for New Hampshire with disabling health issues such as Parkinson’s, arthritis, MS or the loss of limbs from inventor and entrepreneur Anthem Pleasant through a small device called Toothbrush Pillow .

“The toothbrush cushion rests on a countertop and securely holds and balances the toothbrush while the person applies toothpaste. It makes it easier to perform a routine daily function with just one hand,” says Pleasant. “It’s a small, cost-effective device that helps those affected. People maintain good oral health.”
“Better yet, the toothbrush pad can be demonstrated at home or used on a short-term loan before you buy the device for free,” says Pleasant.

Demonstrations at home are available through a government-sponsored program called Assistive Technology Act Programs (ATAP), administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. HHS works through several state agencies that work closely with individual users affected by disability conditions.

In New Hampshire, Pleasant said, the device has been placed in the state’s Advanced Technology Demonstration Center (AT). The process to get a demo or a device loan is to go to ATINNH.AT.4ALL, add the item to your cart, fill out a quick form, and someone will contact you. We’ve been working with Jay Wilson, program coordinator for the New Hampshire Institute on Disability, to put the toothbrush pad in inventory.

ATinNH publishes a quarterly newsletter, Vision and Voice, which highlights assistive technology ideas and updates to its program. In addition, ATinNH has created some series of web accessibility seminars to help people learn how to design, create, and produce products to be used by as many people as possible; both those with and without a disability. The following is an excerpt from the New Hampshire Assistance Technology Program:

Assistive Technology New Hampshire (ATinNH) The Institute on Disability is the lead agency of the state program of the Assistive Technology Act of New Hampshire: Assistive Technology in New Hampshire, or ATinNH. The mission of the Vermont Assistance Technology Program is to support full access and integration for Vermont residents with disabilities and needs related to aging, education, employment, and their communities.

Assistive technology (AT) is integral to the daily lives of many New Hampshire residents. AT at IOD focuses on three main objectives: expanding access to demonstrations and assistive technology loans; increase the reuse of assistive technology equipment; and provide training and educational opportunities.

The goal is for the 56 AT locations (50 states, four U.S. territories, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico) to soon introduce the Toothbrush Pillow through their local assistive technology programs.

Pleasant says the toothbrush pad is available on Amazon and on the direct website. “But having it demonstrated at home by an occupational therapist before purchase allows the user to have more confidence that the device will work for them.”
