Metro Health Systems declares the point of the letter to the community

The four major subway health systems have a message for the community. They said the health care system here at OKC is at a breaking point.

OU Health, Mercy, Integris and SSM Health say there are currently no ICU beds available across the subway.

And all four have a total of 107 patients waiting for an open bed.

In a letter to Oklahoma residents across the subway, the four major health care systems said they have hundreds of staff, either sick or caring for their children who do not go to school.

They said that this has paralyzed their staff, which is already limited, and that there may come a time when a patient suffering a stroke or even a car accident cannot get help.

Now, hospitals are asking for help from the community.

They want people to come to the emergency room for real emergencies.

However, if people need a COVID-19 test for exposure or mild symptoms, they should go to one of the many test sites in the community.
